Neem Oil Neem Oil is used to protect plants and crops against pests. Any suitable emulsifier can be added to form a 0.5% emulsion and used as a foliar spray & soil drench spray on plants and crops. It is effective against insecticide-resistant pests, highly environmentally compatible, non-toxic to mammals and birds, and does not affect beneficial insects. There are no entry restrictions for the product, and it is thus ideal for integrated pest management programs. Neem Oil has found wide acceptance as a base raw material in the preparation of cosmetics, beauty care and herbal medicinal products. It is effective to keep pets free from ticks and scab mites. Cattle and sheep dips containing a 15% emulsion of Neem Oil, keep the animals free from blow flies, horn flies and scabs. In the sphere of pest control, studies have found that pure Neem oil, diluted in water with an emulsifier had better efficacy than formulations that "artificially" fortify azadirachtin levels even upto 50,000 ppm. Neem Oil is a cost effective means of pest control. Just 1.25 litres of Neem Oil is required per spraying for the protection of 1 hectare of crop (16 fl.oz. per acre). Plasma Neem Oil is now in widespread use in all major agricultural regions of the world.
