LECITHIN WATER-DISPERSIBLE CLR

Characteristics Soluvit Richter contains the vitamins A, E, F, H, H, vitamins of the B group, and horse-chestnut extract, in an aqueous-alcoholic medium. Non-ionic solubilizer is used for solubilization of the fat-soluble vitamins A, E and F. Quantitative contents per kg Soluvit Richter: 5000000 I.U. vitamin A 10000 mg vitamin E 825000 Sh.L.U. vitamin F 20mg vitamin H (biotin) 5000 mg vitamin H (p-aminobenzoicacid) 4000 mg calcium D-pantothenate (also designated vitamin B3) 4000 mg inositol (also designated vitamin B8) 150000 mg horse-chestnut extract (the horse-chestnut extract used is so adjusted that 3 parts extract correspond to 1 part of the drug) Soluvit Richter is preserved. Analytical Data Soluvit Richter yields a turbidity with a concentrated solution of sodium chloride at about 35 0C. if this mixture is further warmed to about 45 50 0C, a yellowish to reddish liquid separates out on the surface.Determination of the vitamin A content according to Carr and Price can also serve for quality control. The method is described in Biochem. J. 20,497 (1926). Soluvit Richter is hence to be designated as non-toxic. Toleration by the mucous membrane of the eye Soluvit Richter has undergone the Draize primary mucosa irritation test on the rabbit eye. The test revealed that there is no objection to the application of a 5 % aqueous solution of this agent in the vicinity of the eyes. Skin toleration Experience has shown that in the dosages we recommend for the manufacture of cosmetic preparations Soluvit Richter is non-irritatant to the intact skin. Mode of Action Vitamins are among those biologically active substances which are essential to the orderly progress of all physiological functions in the organism. They are to be regarded as bio-catalysts, i.e., they act as mediators biochemical reactions without themselves taking part Vitamins must be supplied to the body exogenously, since the latter is not in a position to synthesize them for itself. In addition to internal disorders in the body, vitamin deficiency leads to characteristic skin and hair defects. Such deficiency symptoms can be treated by oral administration of vitamins. Clinical studies have shown, however, that a higher vitamin concentration in the skin is to be achieved on percutaneous application of vitamins than by oral administration. If this discovery is extrapolated into the field of cosmetics, a surface treatment of the skin with vitamins is indicated. The vitamins A, E, F, H, H, vitamins of the B group, and horse-chestnut extract contained in Soluvit Richter exhibit the following individul dermatological and cosmetic effects: Vitamin A counter-acts skin cornification and promotes the formation of new cells. It also stimulates sebaceous gland seccretion, without making it excessive. Vitamin E (tocopherol) strengthens the circulation of the blood by activating the flow of humours been made of a positive influence by this vitamin on the formation of new cells. Vitamin F (complex of essential unsaturated free fatty acids) is closely connected with the fat and carbohydrate metabolism, and takes part in various redox processes. If the body lacks vitamin F, this mainfests itself in a poor condition of skin, hair and nails become dull and brittle. Vitamin H(biotin) is an important factor the growth of tissue and for the growth of tissue and for the correct composition of the sebaceous gland secretion. H-deficiency leads to dry, seborrhoeic dermatitis which manifests itself in formation of dandruff and dry crusts. The skin becomes faded and of gray appearance; skin infections and hair loss devlope. Vitamin H is thus important for maintenance of the normal fat metabolism of the skin; it alos protects from loss of hair. According to data in the literature vitamin H (p-aminobenzoic acid) exerts a positive influence on seborrhoeic skin changes and impurities. Bvitamins, as regulators of the metabolic functions are of great importance to the skin. They are components of the prosthetic groups of enzymes, and therefore also important for skin cell respiration. The B vitamins used by us (calcium D-pantothenate, inositol) have a generally beneficial effect on skin and hair, and moreover, regulate seborrhoeic and inflammatory skin changes. Horse-chestnut extracts have the properties of decreasing capillary permeation and promoting blood flow as a result of their content of flavonoids, coumarins and aescine. This activity extends mainly to the peripheral vessels, so that on external application the skin becomes better supplied with blood. Biochemical and clinical observations have revealed that a synergistic effect is achieved by combination of various vitamins, i.e. the individual vitamins are more potent in the company of certain other vitamins than when they are applied in isolation. The CLR agent Soluvit Richter solve the problem in the cosmetics industry of bringing fat-soluble and water-soluble vitamins together in non-emulsified aqueous and aqueous-alcoholic preparations. The agent contains vitamins with varying actions in a hydro-solubilised form, together with horse-chestnut extract to give ti a supplementary herbal note. In developing Soluvit Richter we bore in mind that for the manufacture of sspecifically vitamin cosmetics it is more expedient and economical to have available a ready-for-use vitamin combination well balanced in form and dosage which offers the advantage that the individual vitamins required do not have to be dissolved separately. The content of several cosmetically valuble, fat-soluble and water-soluble vitamins, together with horse-chestnut extract, makes Soluvit Richter a polyvalent vitamin-herbal vehicle for skin and hair care. Applications As hydro-alcohol-solubilized multivitamin-herbal complex, Soluvit Richter is intended for application to skin with under-or-over-active sebaceous glands, i.e., both for dry, rough, chapped and scaling skin and for skin with a tendency to greasiness. Also for application to skin poorly supplied with blood.Preparations with Soluvit Richter are likewise suitable for application to scalps with functional disturbances of the sebaceous glands (hypo-or hyper function). Consequently for the care of dry. Chapped and scaling and hair with a tendency to greasiness. Uses Emulsified and oily vitamin cosmetics for skin and hair. Dosage 1-3% Nature Yellow to reddish-yellow oil. Slight characteristic odour Solubility Soluble in fats and oils. Processing Soluvit Richter is relatively stable to heat, and may be heated briefly to the temperatures required for the manufacture of emulsified preparations.Soluvit Richter does not affect the odour of cosmetics.Cosmetics with Soluvit Richter may be perfumed without difficulty. Storage At cellar- to- room temperature (15 250 C), in well closed containers, protected from light.Where possible, Cutavit Richter should not be stored for longer than 1 year before processing
