Argan (argania spinosa), a rare and thorny ever green tree. Argan oil is produced from the nuts of the Argan fruits. Its existence goes back several thousands of years. It grows only in the southwestern part of Morocco and nowhere else in the world.
The Arganier (Argan Tree) Forests now covers over 8,280, it is designated as a UNESCO Biosphere reserve.

Several womens managed coops in the region using traditional techniques produce Nostalgie Argan oil.
The most intensive part of oil extraction is the removal of the soft pulp and the cracking by hand between two stones. The seeds are then removed and gently roasted. The roasting is what makes the oil nutty flavor. It takes 20hours of work and 150Kilograms of Argan nuts to produce 1 liter of argan oil.
