Indian Basmati Rice

There are a large number of Traditional and Hybrid varieties of Basmati available in India depending upon the area where the paddy fields are located. Our procurement is mainly from Punjab State where the Basmati quality is supreme in terms of aroma and a sweet taste. 

We are exporting the following varieties currently: 

- 1121 Parboiled (Sella) Premium Grade.
- 1121 Polished/Steamed, Premium Grade.
- Pusa Parboiled (Sella) Premium Grade.
- Pusa Polished/Steamed (Premium/Superior and Regular Grades).

Parboiled Rice is produced by a process of soaking, pressure steaming and drying prior to milling. Parboiling is a patented process. It changes the nutrients of the rice kernel. After undergoing this process and proper milling, the rice obtains a light yellow or amber color although the colour largely fades after cooking. It cooks up fluffy and separate. Very popular as a main course of meals for millions of people world wide. Many processed foods such as popped or puffed rice products are produced from brown rice or parboiled rice for use as breakfast cereals and snack foods. 

Steamed varieties are produced through a much higher pressure steaming process. As a result, the nutrients are lower than that of Parboiled Rice. The rice obtains a pure white colour after this process. This variety is popular in supermarkets and shops as consumers have a 'feel good' factor when purchasing Basmati rice that is brilliant white in colour. 

Our varieties are available in bulk quantities and are extremely popular throughout the world. The 1121 is a premium product and is consumed in Iran, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, UAE, UK and USA. These countries also buy large quantities of Pusa. The Pusa quality is very popular in Iran and Egypt. Don't worry about the other qualities because discerning buyers will be happy with these qualities only. However, we can entertain specific requirement but procurement gets more difficult. 

Packaging can be in 5/10/20/50 kg and private labelling of the buyer's brand can be managed, if desired. We have our own 'Riona' brand that we are presently marketing both in India and overseas.
