The hair follicle absorbs the energy of the 808nm laser as it is a melanin containing structure.  This causes rapid localised heating which destroys the root.
 
For most people six 6 sessions are recommended.  We recommend retreating an area every 4-6 weeks (you can actually go over an more than once providing you leave 24 hrs between sessions).  The application needs to be repeated because of the natural hair growth cycle.
 
Included: The Rio Scanning Laser comes with safety keys and a laser wand with two contact points either side of the laser aperture.  These contact points must be in contact with the skin in order for the laser to work. You also have a comprehensive instructional DVD to refer to at any point.
