The electrode is made from 3/8 diameter brass beads and is 24 long in overall length. The electrode will pass through a 1/2" diameter hole and is very flexible. Nickel-plated Brass or Stainless Steel electrodes are also available upon request.
The suspension cable is a special 2-conductor, 20 AWG cable that is marked with a unique Hot-Foil Stamped number that is melted into the PVC cable insulation every 1-foot or 500 mm as desired. This cable has a high 200-pound breaking strength, is black in color with a white polarity stripe on one side. Any length of cable can be ordered up to a maximum length of 2,000 feet.
The control unit does not use any electrical current when turned on and is in the ready mode of operation. In addition, the electrical current that is used by the electrode detection circuit is adjustable with a variable control and is indicated on the 0 - 20 milliamp analog meter on the display panel. This current adjustment allows the unit to be fine tuned to the actual conductivity of the water, which reduces the current draw on the battery system and allows the alarm devices to operate for a longer period.
The control unit is activated by an electrode that is suspended on a wire cable from the top of a tank or slotted pipe that is driven or drilled into the ground. The suspension cable can easily be raised or lowered to any desired elevation.
The High Level Alarm Control is designed to detect the presence of water at a predetermined level and activate an alarm, light, siren, bell, horn, or other type of warning device. The control unit is a 12 VDC battery operated solid-state electronic device with no moving parts or mechanical relays, and therefore is very accurate and highly dependable.
