To further meet requirements from the field the new connection board provides no fuses. Consequently, appropriate fusing of power supply and power cabling must take place externally to the console.
Easier installation
A number of improvements have been made in order to make the installation easier. The most significant is the introduction of the new console connection board, which greatly simplifies the on board
installation. In A3 and A4 configuration consoles two connection boards are provided; one for connecting the GMDSS primary equipment and one for connecting the duplication equipment. Thus,
separation both electrically and mechanically of the primary and duplication side in the console is achieved. The two connection boards are identical and all the connection board plugs and
terminals clearly marked for easy identification where to connect the appropriate equipment.
New Console Alarm Panels for SAILOR TT-3000EB
In order to allow space for additional control unit (MF/HF or VHF) in the console it has been necessary to mechanically redesign the Console Alarm Panels for the TT-3000EB mini-C GMDSS. Thus, two
new Console Alarm Panels for the SAILOR TT-3000EB are available.
On-Off button
A new On-Off function has been implemented in the console sections accommodating the TT-3606E Message terminal. This On-Off function is operated through an On-Off button and provides for the
possibility to turn off the message terminal. Along with a message terminal associated with the TT-3000EB mini-C GMDSS, the mini-C will be turned off as well, when operating the On-Off button. In a
console section in which the message terminal is used for the full radio telex function only the message terminal will turn off.
The SAILOR System 5000 Console is delivered with one gooseneck lamp with a white light source. However, should the customer prefer the gooseneck lamp with a red light source, this is available as an option. Dimming control of the Emergency Light is another new feature. The dimmer control is integral with the battery panel.
Improved Emergency Light
A new gooseneck type lamp is introduced with the SAILOR System 5000 Consoles replacing the fixed halogen light of the System 4000 Consoles. This new gooseneck type Emergency lamp provides for
better pointing of the light to the area where this is required for operating at the console.
Complete GMDSS Console
The new SAILOR System 5000 Consoles have been designed to accommodate both a SAILOR RT502x VHF DSC Class A, a SAILOR System 5000 MF/HF control unit and alarm panels for the SAILOR TT-3000EB mini-C
GMDSS - all in the same console and section of this. Additional sections are for the SAILOR TT- 3606E Message Terminal.
With the new SAILOR System 5000 GMDSS Consoles a number of extra user friendly features are being introduced:
The SAILOR System 5000 GMDSS Consoles offer solutions for simple one-section A2 installations to more advanced 4-section A4 systems. In every solution the console includes the SAILOR Battery Panel BP4680 and the new gooseneck type Emergency Light. The SAILOR System 5000 Consoles offer advanced solutions, which are simple to install on virtually any vessel. And making the on board installation even easier is the provision for having the consoles delivered with equipment installed and fully tested from the factory.
We are pleased to introduce the new and updated Thrane & Thrane GMDSS Consoles for the 5000 series. The Consoles have been updated and improved as a response to the customer feedback on the highly popular range of SAILOR GMDSS Consoles for the previous range of System 4000 Consoles. The new range of consoles is even more user friendly and easier to install than the System 4000 GMDSS Consoles.
