Ratedat IP42 the ZR485 is constructed of ABS plastic and is intended forindoor applications. A red LED indicator, prominently positioned on thecallpoint front plate, flashes when the unit is
operated.
The ZR485 wirelesscallpoint is designed for surface fixing and is supplied complete withmatching backbox. System testing is carried out by using a special keywhich when inserted into a slot in the base of the callpoint moulding,drops the glass element allowing the device to operate.
Installed as part ofthe ZP3 analogue addressable system, up to 127 devices can be connectedto each of the control panel loops. Each wireless device, controlledthrough the ZR470 interface is assigned its own IDENT address, withwhich the main control panel communicates, providing the same systemfacilities as directly wired devices.
Theunit is operated by breaking a frangible glass element with fingerpressure. Glass elements have clear vinyl coatings on the front surfaceto prevent operator injury and to inhibit the release of loosefragments, as the glass is broken.
Suitable for use on installationsspecifying the recommendations of BS 5839 Part 1, the callpoint fullymeets the requirements of European Standard EN54 Part 11 and isapproved by several international approval bodies.
Thecallpoint forms part of an extensive range of wireless fire alarmdevices, which includes smoke and heat sensors in addition to alarmsounder units.
Theunit is controlled directly from the main fire alarm panel, via a loopwired radio interface module. This arrangement allows both wireless andhardwired devices to be seamlessly located on the same loop wiring.
ZR485wireless callpoints provide a manual means of initiating a fire alarmin areas where the installation of hard wiring is not an option.
