Protection against fire incident can be achieved by two methods:
Conventional System
Addressable System
Both work with the principle of detecting fire or the effect of fire and generate the alarm. A fire alarm system is composed of
components which can be classified as:
Main Control Panel: This is the brain of the entire system, which coordinates the signals and resultant action of the system.
Initiating Devices: These devices either sense the effect of a fire, or can be manually activated by the personnel resulting the signal to the control panel, they are called as
smoke detectors, heat detectors, manual call points and sprinkler pressure or flow switches.
Notification Devices: These pick signal from the control panel and generate the siren.
