The development trends of technical protection are increasingly becoming Internet-oriented.
IP_SEC (IP Security) (ip-ac.eu) system eliminates all alarm transmission flaws.
It performs three basic functions:
- Alarm signal transfer from the alarm control panel at the secured building to the monitoring center over the Internet,
- Constant control over the connection between the secured building and the monitoring center and
- Alternative alarm signal transfer over telephone lines and/or GSM (GPRS) networks.
The IP_SEC system
consists of two components:
The
IP_AC interface (IP Alarm Communicator) is a communication deviceenabling alarm signal transfer from the alarmcontrol panel over the IPnetwork (ADSL, cable, wireless...) and at
the same time using thepossibility of transfer over standard telephone lines and GMS (GPRS)networks as backups.
The
IP_AC interface has an additional functionensuring its wider applicability. It enables additional
Input/Outputconnection assuring all kind of signals to be
send from the securedbuilding side to the monitoring centre.
A receiver unit called IP_REC (IPReceiver) is installed at the monitoring center enabling alarm signalreception, control over the connection to the secured building andcommunication with the
operating software the monitoring center.
Transmitting alarm over Internet and backup networks
Oncethe alarm goes off at the secured building, the IP_AC interface seizesit, reads the CONTACT-ID information (additionally it can be adapted toany other alarm protocol), reformats it into an IP
package and sends thepackage overthe IP network to the monitoring center.
The signalsreceived by the Input/Output module (which is connetcted to the IP_ACmodule) can be handled at the same way as alarm signals.
Thereis an alarm receiver called IP_REC installed in the monitoring centerenabling alarm signal reception and control over the connection to thesecured building over the Internet.
Data transfer takes aboutone second and does not exceed 70 bytes, a size which does not slow downthe Internet connection at the secured building or ar the monitortingcenter.
The capacity of a ping coming from the receiver and beingsend back is a little over 30 bytes which also does not slow down theInternet connection.
What happens when Internet connection is off?
If theInternet connection at the secured building is disconnected, an alarmgoes off at the monitoring center. The disconnection is also detected bythe IP_AC interface which tries to transmit the
event over the telephoneline or GSM (GPRS) network (secondary transfer can be prioritized -telephone line or GSM network). If the secondary connections aredisconnected as well, an alarm of general
disconnection with the securedbuilding is sent to the monitoring software by the IP_REC receiver.
What isthe most important is that the monitoring center keeps CONSTANT CONTROLOVER THE OPERATION OF THE INTERNET LINE at the secured building. Thereceiver and the interface constantly check
their connection in presetadjustable intervals (pings).
IP alarm communication IP_SEC (IP-ac. eu) system provides alarm transmission and line supervision over the Internet.
