car parks, financial institutions, shopping centres and town centres, as well as your private residence.
In addition to the conventional security system, a CCTV system may be installed to allow for visual verification of events in and around properties and premises. These events can also be monitored
remotely by the control centre and action taken based on what the operator is viewing at the remote site. All this can be recorded on site using a time lapse recorder as well as at the remote
monitoring centre on computer hard drives.
A basic system comprises cameras mounted in housings (outdoors) and wall mounted brackets and the appropriate lenses, hard wired back to the monitor, time lapse recorder and sequential switcher (in
the case of more than one camera). The time lapse recorder is not essential should recording of events not be necessary.
More sophisticated systems can be made up and may include multiplexers, splitters, pan and tilt heads, infra-red lenses and many more high tech items.
