The XCAM2PIR ia a single lens colour camera with a built-in transmitter which transmits video and audio at 2.4 GHz. The signal transmitted by the camera at 2.4GHz is received by the camera receiver (has a square aerial in the picture) which has been connected to the VCR using the enclosed RCA/SCART cable. This particular version of the camera also has an integral motion detector which transmits RF signals at 433 MHz. As soon as the PIR detects movement, it sends out out a signal at 433 Mhz to the VCR Commander (has the longer, thinner aerial in the picture) to start recording. In the initial set-up of the system, the VCR will have been taught the correct IR sequences for turning on, recording, playing and turning off that VCR. The IR lead is attached from the VCR Commander, with one of the 'eyes' placed close to the IR receiver on the front of the VCR, so that when the code sequence is issued, it will commence recording. When no further movement has been detected for 5 minutes the PIR will send an off command.
