DVR(Digital Video Recorder) is a multifunctional device which offers digital recording, searching, and monitoring on a screen with multi-camera video. This system transforms the output analog signal of CCTV camera into the digital signal, and compresses and stores it on the hard disk. DVR has three main functions. First, it can record the digital video data semi-permanently on HDD(Hard Disk Drive). Second, it allows users to search recorded data simultaneously while viewing the image. Third, it has a built-in multiplexer which supports the multi-camera display function. This feature lets users monitor the video images of several cameras on a screen simultaneously. It is a high-end security device with affordable price which can replace existing analog CCTV.
