Image vehicle detection system, developed for the first time in Korea, was delivered to Korea Highway Corporation and Korea Institute of Construction Technology. Currently, it is installed on No. 3 National road, Kyungbu, Honam, and Youngdong Highway to play a great role in providing much traffic information.

With its high storage and replaying capability, it is easily accessed for useful traffic analysis data if necessary. Also, it can obtain spatial traffic information, including traffic density and the length of waiting vehicles that is impossible with conventional systems.

This system can be installed without road surface contact, so the installation is easy. It is a state-of-the-art system which can measure many traffic variables using one camera; it can perform many functions at lower costs.

The image-type vehicle detection system was developed to promote smooth traffic flow and monitor changes in traffic situation effectively. It monitors the traffic situation and the vehicles which pass a certain point, converts the data into a video signal, and processes it in the central processing unit. It easily obtains traffic data, such as total number of passing vehicles, number and speed of passing vehicles in each lane, occupation hours, and vehicle types in real time.
