System options include single entry from a window or parapet, single entry from an opening in the floor, and multi entry systems.

The system is available in lengths from 3m to 112m, and certified by TUV Germany. It is fitted with 5 load bearing straps each rated for 1500kg.

The user then steps out of the capsule making room for the next user.

The chute has a cushion capsule at the bottom and the user makes a soft landing on the cushion placed about 400mm above the ground.

The system comprises an outer tube made of fire retardant material, that is also water repellant, and filters smoke to provide the user with clean air during his evacuation.

The Axel Thoms Emergency Escape Vertical Chutes are fitted with an internal spiral slide that provides a safe descent speed of not more than 2.1mps for users of all sizes and weights.
