Accordingly, these excellent chemical and physical properties can be taken advantage of as a non-stick coating in power plants, waste incineration plants and other firing plants whereby the easy-to-clean effect comes into operation. Thanks to NANOCOMP corrosive accumulation on fireclay bricks and heat exchanging pipes is avoided, thus significantly reducing servicing costs. In chimneys, the excellent sliding and non-stick properties are beneficial for the prevention of shining soot bearing the risk of chimney fires.

However, the coating does not only have the function of preventing a reaction of molten metal with the moulding material, but also has locally an effect on the heat transfer between the molten metal and the moulding surface when detaching the mould from the surface, the separation between casting and mould is facilitated.
NANOCOMP can be applied by spraying, painting or dip coating not only onto metals but also onto mineral substrates.

Foundry facings can be used whenever a mould release agent with a fireproof filling material is required, characterised by a high thermal stability, unlike graphite not oxidising already at low temperatures. Pouring spoons in a metal foundry for example are protected against the attacks of molten metals with such a facing. Owing to the low wetting property, the formation of oxide skins, otherwise introduced after the discharging of the pouring spoon into the holding furnace, is prevented.
