Water Mist Guns

AFT Fire Fighting systems have successfully received European standard EN3 certification of A55 for A class fires and B233 for B class fires. This has been achieved with a portable backpack system using only 9 litre of water based AF-01 extinguishing agent.

Our products are patented all over the world for design and technology and we are the sole proprietors of these patents. At present, to the best of our knowledge, there exist no similar products in the market using the same technology and design.

AFT water mist systems atomize water to fine droplets thus enlarging the surface area by 50 times compared to conventional fire fighting systems. This allows a very good absorption of heat due to the increased surface area. The optimal size of water droplets ensures instantaneous evaporation of the water mist in the flame zone whereby its volume is increased by 1640 times while forming steam. As a consequence air/oxygen is expelled from the flame zone due to the inerting effect of steam. This rapidly extinguishes the fire with very minimal damage to the valuable equipment.

AFT firefighting systems use very little amount of water when compared to the conventional fire truck, sprinklers, etc., which use the deluge fire fighting methodology thus resulting in large water usage & damage. AFT uses a fraction of the water due to its Water mist technology thus reducing the chance of water damage to high value electrical / electronics installations.

For electrical fires, we have a special model (AFT 09/03 E) which has been successfully tested for electrical fires at 35,000 volts at 1 metre distance and has been certified by IBEXU-Freiburg, Germany.

These drops can be shot in a jet format for handling fires from a safe distance (lancing distance 15 18 meters) or in spray mode (60 degree angle) to attack fires at a close range (5 7 meters) for a larger fire area coverage.

The specially designed AFT Gun is also unique in that it breaks the water droplets into a controlled band of 100 150 microns by special chambers and nozzles that provide continuous and controlled droplets of that size (over 90%) in order to produce an optimum mist for best fire fighting results. These droplets are then accelerated by a special patented nozzle using rocket technology to penetrate the fire wall and quickly reach the seat of the fire.

The cutting edge technology pioneered by AFT in its unique and specially designed gun, employs special technology that works on very low working pressure to ensure safety of the fire fighters while simultaneously offering them the advantage to tackle a fire from a safe distance. It uses only 7.5 bars of working pressure to achieve a lancing distance of 15 18 meters. This ensures a negligible recoil and total safety of the firefighter.

We launched our first products worldwide in 2001 after many years of extensive Research & Development. Our Portable system (AFT 09/03) using just 9 litres of AFT-01 extinguishing agent have been certified by European DIN EN3 with the highest ratings of A55 for A class fires and B 233 for B class fires (equivalent to 55 sq. metres surface area of A class fires and 155 litres of Gasoline for B Class fuel fire).
