Bullet Resistant Glass

What is Spalling?
Spalling is the exit of glass toward the protected side during an attack, regardless of projectile, blast or forced entry penetration/access. Transparent armor and Architectural Security Glazings can defeat the threat and still allow spalling whether limited or not. Anti-spalling requirements fall within two levels:

Low Spalling - Allowing for a limited amount of glazing loss
No Spalling - Allowing for no glazing loss

The Low Spall designs will therefore have glass on the inner most layer, while the No Spall design will have an inside surface of Hardcoated Polycarbonate. Other available glazings are Laminated Polycarbonate or Laminated Acrylic

All Transparent Armor and Security Glazing is offered with two performance requirement options
- Low Spall requirements
- No Spall requirements

Vehicle and Flat Transparent Armor
BSI Provides vehicle and architectural armorers a wide variety of flat glass laminates, flat and curved glass clad polycarbonates for executive and money transport vehicles and flat sheets for buildings.
