The vessel is fitted with four 300 hp outboard engines giving a total of 1200 hp. Speeds of 60+ knots are achieved in calm water situations. But the true characteristics of this catamaran hull will allow this vessel to out run a mono hulled vessel with equal hp in rough open water.
The cabin offers protection from the weather, but with extra laminates and bullet proof glass, offers the crew protection from small caliber projectiles.
An inflatable tube surrounds the gunwale. The tube acts as a spray deflector but more so as a fender for boarding other boats at speed.
The hull shape: is a modified offshore racing hull, suited to rough choppy conditions with wind swells of 3 to 4 feet (1 1.2m). The stepped aft section decreases wetted surface by inducing air to the hulls to ride on a cushion of air. The tunnel is shaped like a wing. As the catamaran approaches speeds of 25 knots, air is compressed down the tunnel giving the vessel lift. This cushion of air also dampens the slamming impact of swells making the ride more comfortable for the crew. The hulls are made from high quality composite materials. The laminate of the hulls include Kevlar as used in bulletproof vests. The hulls are sectioned into 20 watertight compartments. Some compartments are foam filled so even if the hull is breached with a bullet, the vessel will not fill with water and sink. Crew safety is always first and foremost.
