Incorporating the U.S. Armys existing and proven assets of the and the Tru-Hitch system, The Heavy Army Recovery Vehicle improves the Armys recovery and maintenance capabilities without having to introduce a new vehicle platform.

Specifically engineered to address the Armys needs in situations where self- and like-vehicle recoveries are not feasible, The HARV, with its integrated crane can overturn vehicles, perform slope recoveries and extract vehicles mired in water, mud, sand and snow. Lift and tow operations are performed by a fifth wheel device that can also be engaged into a high mobility trailer for evacuation of completely immobilized vehicles.
