The LVF Floor Kit is available now for the following military vehicles: HMMWV, Semi-Tractor, 5 Ton FFP/MTV, 5 Ton Truck Bed, PLS, HEMTT, M917,and CUCV. The LVF Floor Kit is also available in Low, Medium and High Velocity Fragmentation Levels as well as ballistic levels if needed.

The second problem with sand bags is the uneven floor base for our soldiers. They run the risk of tripping, twisting their ankles or in some other way injuring themselves because their footing is not steady and firm.

There are two problems with this method. The first problem is that the extra weight can affect the handling of the HMMWV. The average weight of the HMMWV in its many formats is just over 6000 pounds. A conservative estimate on the added weight from sand bags is 1800 pounds. This added weight has a detrimental effect on the handling, acceleration, braking, and overall performance of the HMMWV.

Traditionally, the only way to protect the soldiers inside a HMMWV from fragmentation has been with sand bags across the floor of the vehicle.
