In US, all trailers are required to be equipped with reflective tapes or reflex reflectors. According to NHTSA rule, retroreflective (conspicuity) sheeting must meet or exceed Federal Motor Vehicle
Safety Standard No. 108 (49 CFR 571.108). There are three types of conspicuity sheeting listed as below which contain photometric values required by ASTM D 4956-90.
