APPLICATIONSGelman BH Class II Series Type B2 Cabinets are Total Exhaust cabinets designed to provide a high degree of personnel, environment and product protection in applications involving biological agents that require Biosafety Level 1, 2 or 3 containments. The cabinets may be used for work with agents that have been treated with toxic chemicals and radionuclides.OPERATIONAn effective air barrier between the operator and the work zone is maintained at an average inflow velocity of 100fpm through the work access opening air grille. The cabinets provide a Class 100 HEPA-filtered vertical laminar air flow in the work zone, create a biological-clean work area and exhaust all 100% of the inflow and downflow air to the atmosphere after filtration through an exhaust HEPA filter without recirculation in the cabinet or return to the laboratory room air system. Type B2 cabinets have all contaminated ducts and plenums connected to a dedicated exhaust duct system under negative pressure.Standard cabinets have exhaust discharge on the top.Gelman Zero Leak system ensures that all positive pressure zones are surrounded by negative pressure zones, so as to contain potentially-hazardous aerosols.PHYSICAL DATAStandard units available with nominal width of 90cm, 120cm and 180cm.Other sizes are available upon request.
