The Acousticom helmet/headset is designed specifically for replacement for Comtronics or RAD, which combine with the helmet to form an integrated assembly. The helmet shell is a high-strength, light weight woven fiberglass composite reinforced with epoxy resin. A rubber edge beading covers the shells outer rim. The energy-absorbing liner is made of rigid polystyrene molded to conform to the inside of the helmet shell. Hook fastener tabs on the outside surface of the liner mate with pile fastener strips on the inside of the helmet shell, thereby simplifying liner installation and removal. A velour fabric spacing systems that allows the helmet to be adjusted for small to large, is included to accomadate many useres. The helmet can be worn comfortably for extended periods. Snaps are provided in the outer shell allowing for an optional visor to be securely attached. Helmets are available in standard white or for an additional charge just about any color.

The retention assembly both front and back use a unique snap adjustable system.

The headsets are equipped with such standard features as, flexible gel-filled ear seals, comfort fit headband pad designed to relieve stress and hotspots during long flights, Acousticom unique stay-put flexible tube microphone boom, designed to stay where you place it for more accurate speech recognition and less wind noise. A military microphone and military quality dynamic earphones wired in parallel for excellent voice and sound reproduction.
