The Toro has three main features distinguishing it from the other reels: the self-supporting structure, the EDS drag system and the Alumina line guard.
The virtues of the Toro reel are seen by the naked eye, starting with a central hole that is the result of a self-supporting structure where the chassis acts as one single-piece central shaft,
while in other reels the shaft is made up by two joined pieces. This feature provides the reel with a matchless structural and mechanical strength, perfect for demanding fishing conditions.
The drag system has been called EDS, for Expanded Drag System. Due to its specific location in the center of the reel, on the chassis structure itself, the system operates in the retrieval
direction, homogeneously dissipating drag forces along a friction surface greater than that of average reels.
The third special feature of the reel is its Alumina line guard. Its low friction coefficient helps
protecting the line and the reel from normal wear caused by the abrasive characteristics of tag ends.
As soon as the reel is opened, you can see a 16 roller bearing system providing the Toro with
unique and powerful pulling features: anglers will experience 16 rollers operating in a reel for the first time.
With a few simple operations you can change the retrieval direction from right hand to left hand or vice versa, by reversing the bearing position.
Chassis are made up by a CNC structure fully machined from one single aerospace 6061-T6
aluminum solid bar stock, are protected with a 30 micron hard anodized finish and are identified with a unique serial number. This provides us with optimum control of the quality of materials and
processes, therefore allowing us to offer a lifetime warranty.
This model has been designed to be used with extractable cassettes, made of high-strength engineering polymers with UV protection features intended to extend the reel life in natural
environments.
The system consists of a cylindrical ring that expands or contracts in order to adjust the drag power according to the anglers requirements. Internal drag forces align with the reel structure
on a friction surface that is at least two times larger than in other similar products.
Given the fact that the system is directly mounted on the reel chassis, the self-supporting structure eliminates the need for a central shaft and, consequently, all related resistance issues. In
the aggregate, the self-supporting structure and the EDS system make the reel perfect for demanding and hard fishing conditions.
