Rubber Playground Mulch

3. Install certified playground mulch under and around the playground. Our rubber mulch is now packaged in huge 1000 lb super sacs which we consider bulk. (no small bags as pictured here).

2. Borders are used to contain the mulch (6" regular duty brown borders in this case) There are several choices available for containment borders.

1. Barrier Cloth over existing lawn is most common. (Lawn and earth can also be excavated and drainage stone and drainage tile can be installed after excavation. Excavation and drainage adds a great deal to the cost. It is usually best to choose a location that is reasonably dry and well drained to begin with.

The Safety Surfacing Install Process: the images below illustrate a typical safety surfacing install with one of our cedar log playgrounds. The process varies slightly from when we install our steel commercial playgrounds. It is most common for us to do the safety surfacing install in conjunction with the playground install. However it is also possible for us to add the safety surfacing after the playground installation.

Local delivery is by dump trailer or dump truck. Larger and long haul orders are delivered by common carrier in an enclosed tractor trailer which the customer must unload. The minimum order on all non local projects is $5,000.

Coverage: Coverage varies depending upon the manufacturer we use. Rates tend to vary from 12 - 14 lbs per square foot average 13 lbs. per square ft. of coverage at 6" deep, 20 lbs. per sq. ft at 9", 7 lbs per square foot at 3" , 3.5 lbs at 1.5" and so on. 6" of rubber mulch will provide 12' of fall protection.
