Upgrades from S1:
Lighter frame - The S1 is very competitive in weight (as a past winner of Paris-Roubaix, it has to be), the use of carbon fiber allows a further weight reduction. This makes the S2 very competitive
in weight even compared to frames without an aero advantage.
Higher bottom bracket and torsional stiffness - While even the biggest pro riders have no complaints about the S1's stiffness, the S2's additional torsional stiffness make it track through
switchbacks in fast descents even better.
One-position aero carbon seatpost - To save weight, the S2 ships standard with an aero one-position seatpost. But the optional 2-position post will also fit on the S2, ideal for those looking to do
the occasional triathlon in a moderately forward position.
TrueAero
Airplanes require different airfoils than bicycles. Sounds logical, but many companies are so proud to say their airfoils come from the National Advisory Committee on Aeronautics
(NACA). So did we, 13 years ago. But now, we design our own specific airfoils, and it has led to significant improvements. It's one of the reasons why Cervelo spend weeks and weeks in the
windtunnel each year, not hours (if any) as is customary in the industry. When you have the most and the best engineers working on aerodynamic improvements and you give them more time to play in
the windtunnel sand box than anybody else, you end up with faster bikes. Simple.
Smartwall for Carbon
Patent-pending technology from our carbon materials and manufacturing group, Smartwall elaborates on the Squoval tubeshape. With the sides far away from the center plane more important, we
concentrate more material there to increase the benefit.
The S2 is the next generation of the Soloist Carbon, which already had the reputation for being the ultimate pro bike
