Tip: This call, like all my calls, has been played for sound quality and has had a striker specifically matched to it for the best turkey sounds, which is included with the call when you order. Other strikers will sound good, but this is the one we think sounds the best!

The work and quality I build into each of my hunting calls is more than you will find in most calls. The wood pot is hand-turned from American black walnut, and goes through a 5-step finishing process using a gunstock-type oil finish. The surface is cut from the highest grade Pennsylvania slate I can find. All of my pot calls have a unique, easy-to-hold pot design which will let the call fit in your fingers like an extension of your hand. No worry about dropping this call with your gloves on!

This was the original call I first offered for sale. It is my personal favorite, I never leave home without one in my vest! My Slate doesn't just make turkey-sounding notes like lots of cheap calls on the market, but replicates the true, authentic calls of the Wild Turkey. I've called many turkeys using these calls all across the USA, and I, as well as hundreds of hunters across the country, have proven they'll work on Merriam's, Rio Grande, Eastern, and Osceola birds.
