A Steinway Model D concert grand piano with a mahogany case and polyester finish. A wedding gift to pianist Gerda Netta Taschner from her husband Gerhard Taschner in 1939. Piano
left Germany during WWII and was taken to Prague. Parting company with its owner it later ended up at the Rudolfinum, Prague where it was played by many eminent pianists of the day. In 1995 the
Czech government reunited the piano with Gerda, its original owner having had the piano fully reconditioned by Steinway & Sons. The piano was later repolyestered in 2008. Full history and
