Allen and Heath have announced that the Xone:3D will be replaced by the... Xone:4D. The Xone:4D utilises the new USB 2.0 soundcard which isnow in production in the Xone:2D, which offers much greater capabilityand flexibility over the previous version.

The new 4D will do everything that the 3D could do, and more. It willenable DJs to greatly extend the capability of their digital setup,e.g. by running 4 simultaneous decks in Native Instruments Traktor, orby being able to achieve genuine multi-track recording of their sets inapplications such as Ableton Live or ProTools.

The new model from Allen & Heath Xone series is a USB mixer with anew soundcard that includes the same features than the Xone:3D but withsome interesting news like multi-track recording, running 4simultaneous decks in Native Instruments Traktor or, like a lot ofpeople requested, panels that can be read in very low light using aultra violet sensitive paint.

The specifications Allen & Heath Xone:4D Mixer are 24-bit audioresolution and 96 kHz sampling rate, 8 different setups for the USBsoundcard (that removes the need of using the computer software utilitylike the Xone:3D model), 225 assignable MIDI controls, real-time LFOwaveform edit function, 4 stereo and digital outputs and 4 stereo anddigital inputs and FX2 RCA sockets that can be converted to recordingoutputs.

The Xone:4D continues the seamless integration of computer-baseddigital media into the traditional DJ workspace, but with a furtherenhanced feature set. Combining a fully featured, high specificationprofessional analogue DJ mixer with 105 MIDI controllers and 227 MIDImessages, a completely new, high-end, 96 kHz / 24-bit 20 channel Allen& Heath-designed USB 2.0 soundcard, the progressive XONE:4D hasbeen developed in conjunction with some of the worlds mostcutting-edge DJ/producers.
New features for the 4D include the new 20-channel USB 2.0 soundcard, acompletely new BPM counter, assignable LFO with step VCF-filter andfresh new paint.
