Old Fiddle Road banjos are handcrafted by Noel Booth in Balsam, NC. We have up for auction one of his Bent Rim model openback banjos. This banjo was made ca. October 2007 and has had one owner, a
frequent consignor at our shop. He is a collector of fine banjos and is paring down his collection. This banjo has rarely been played in the time hes owned it, and were placing it in mint
condition.
This banjo has an 11 two-ply bent cherry rim, and is known as an A Scale banjo. This is a slightly shorter scale, perfect for people with smaller hands. In a typical A scale tuning, the fifth
string = A, 4th = e, 3rd = A, 2nd = c 1st = e (which is a G tuning, capod to 2nd fret). The banjo can also be tuned down to a regular G tuning. The scale length (from nut to bridge) on this banjo
is 24 1/4 inches. On a standard banjo the scale length is 25 1/2 inches.
