The firm of Inveran House has been established for over thirty years, and is now located in Newburgh, Fife, producing a small quantity of high-quality bagpipes every year. Founded by Jimmy Tweedie (formerly of William Sinclair & Sons and MacPherson Bagpipes), the business consists of Pipe Major Brian Donaldson, and Donald MacFarlane (both ex-Scots Guards). For years Inveran has been known for the tonal depth of their drones, and Inveran pipes have been played by Rob Mathieson of Shotts for over twenty years now. The detail on these pipes has to be seen to be fully appreciated, just as their tone has to be heard in order to be believed. This is an elegant pipe for the discriminating player, made by one of the best small makers in the world.
