| In this photo the Dragonfly is set up as an alternative to a hard shell dory. The frame is provided by Black foot Manufacturing. The drop stitch floor provides the best hull speed of any inflatable fishing boat on the market. It glides over the top of the water and tracks extremely well, because the floor is recessed up inside the main tubes 3 inches. Therefore it does not behave like some other self-bailers that seem to drift across the current line. There is no need to provide hard floors to stand on, because the Drop stitch is firm, yet soft as plush carpeting. The whole boat and frame can be car topped by two people easily. This is a great boat for R2. Put one paddler on each side and have a ball. With the right paddle captain, you can really surf this boat to your hearts content. It is a great little cargo boat also. It can easily carry three 250-LB people and their gear for a weeklong trip. We take everything we want for our family of 4 when we use a dragonfly, and a cutthroat. For the 2004 season this boat has been redesigned with diminishing diameter on the front, and a larger cross tube in the front. This maintains the same performance characteristic of the shorter version we built in 2003, and allowed us to put a baffle in that section. Now the Dragonfly has 4 chambers in the main tube instead of 2.
