Pedipalp Technologies Smart Park & Pay On-Street Parking Meter Unit is simple, secure and reliable. Innovative use of electronic and software engineering principles has reduced the need for maintenance and has made the Smart Park & Pay unit exceptionally simple to operate, hence increased motorist compliance. With two large screens that displays the bay number selected and the parking time remaining, it is just a matter of selecting the bay number and paying with either coins or contactless smart card.
Operating on a rechargeable long-life battery, one Smart Park & Pay unit can control up to 6 parking bays. The unit is fitted with a modular electronic coin acceptance unit and an optional smart card reader. This dual payment system is designed to enhance convenience and minimize cash collection.
The vandal-resistant heavy-duty combination of the stainless steel front plate and the powder coated mild steel housing protects the microprocessor mainboard, the electronic coin acceptance unit and the smart card reader. The electronics can be programmed to modify parking tariffs, modify the maximum parking time allowed and record all transactions for later audit. The stored information can be downloaded to a laptop or PDA using either the built-in serial communication line or the infrared port.
