Electronic patient protection from lung barotraumas is guaranteed by an independent circuit which turns off the oxygen (breathing gas) supply when pressure exceeds 60 cm H2O.  Mechanical patient protection from high pressures is guaranteed by a safety pressure valve installed at the oxygen main point of entry into the ventilator. Adjustable pressure alarms. In order to prevent bacterial contamination and to reduce the noise levels an anti-bacterial filter can be easily plugged into the injection opening of the tubing set. The breathing tubing set and injector are easy to disassemble and sterilize. In the unlikely event of a complete power loss (external power outage AND battery depletion) breathing gas can be pumped manually.  JV100 has a built-in battery unit which is recharged automatically whenever the device is plugged into an external power source.
