BURAN-74 meteo-navigation radar station

Main technical characteristics:

These systems are meant to be installed on military-transport and special purpose aircrafts and helicopters.
Under any meteorological conditions and on any latitudes they provide location and identification of radio-locating reference points, radio-locating responder beacons, as well as hydro-meteorological formations, mountain peaks and oncoming aircrafts dangerous during flights.
They transfer necessary information to the flight-and-navigation system for airplane (helicopter) current position updating.
They have a high degree automated control and function monitoring.
Their construction consists of self-contained blocks (antenna, transmit-receiver, indicator, etc.).
Application of ARING-708 recommendations allowed to unify the cable network and to make it possible to enhance functional capabilities.
BURAN-72, BURAN-74 systems are installed on the N-72 (N-72P, N-72PS) aircrafts, N-74 aircraft and MI-26 helicopter accordingly.
