Unilink-Sx is a high-end full-featured radio designed to seamlessly incorporate radio links into a fiber-based SDH/SONET, supporting:
  • 2xSTM-1/OC-3 over a single 27.5/28MHz channel
  • 4xSTM-1/OC-3 over a single 50/56MHz channel
  • STM-4/OC-12 over a single 50/56MHz channel

Unilink-Sx is an inherent dual-channel system with integrated cross-polarization interference cancellation, providing a new level of spectral efficiency and system gain. The radio features a fully compliant SDH/SONET regenerator and provides additional benefits including automatic protection switching, in-band management using radio overhead, and tight integration with existing SDH/SONET element management systems. Unilink-Sx meets carrier-grade standards for reliability, quality, and environmental compliance.

Key features of the system include:
  • 27.5/28/30 MHz spectrum licenses.

  • 256TCM in each polarization.

  • Operation in 6-40GHz

  • Superior sensitivity and phase noise immunity.

  • Hot standby protection switching and hitless Rx protection switching.

  • 1+0 or 1+1 configurations.

  • E1/T1 out-of-band wayside channel plus in-band voice EOW and data EOW channels.

  • SNMP management with integral routing and management of ODUs and remote IDUs.

  • Remote software download.

  • Local configuration backup via removable NVRAM.

  • Extensive maintenance and operational capabilities.

  • Future support of additional payload interfaces (PDH, Ethernet 10/100BaseT).

  • Common 1RU IDU for all frequency bands.
