In this case,the RCU is a communication bridge between energy meter concentrator and GSM/GPRS network.Energy data of each dual-rate meter would firstly be collected at energy meter concentrator by RS485.The RCU which has a GSM/GPRS modem inside would then transfer data from energy meter concentrator to the energy distribution center through GPRS,which enables the real time data transferring between meter and data center system.
Made up of CPU(ARM7 or ARM9),GSM/GPRS,storage,power and circuit,the RCU can be used for data collecting,data communication,remote control and data store.It can be widely used for remote surveillance of mobile devices and remote automatic meter reading system (AMRS) for water,energy and gas.
