 The fixed 724XD type X-band pulse Doppler weather radar is a Doppler radar based on medium-frequency coherent system. Absorbing and employing lots of crucial technologies of military radars, it is a real Doppler weather radar. It is mainly used to affect weather artificially and forecast short-term weather accurately. It can detect not only the height, thickness, bottom elevation and internal water content of a precipitation cloud but the flow field radial component of a precipitation cloud and the air current and turbulent flow active regions in a storm. In addition, it has the functions of real-time detection and warning of catastrophic weather such as the medium and small-sized storms, hails, powerful wind shear, cyclones, tornadoes and gales. The diversifying meteorological product data created by the system can realize the distant transmission through a network and be in conformity with the meteorological product data code specified by the China Meteorological Administration.
