General Characteristics

The radar family now has three patterns available, i.e. fixed in the ground, mobile on vehicle, and shipborne, which can be selected by users.

The 724xd family is widely used in the professional meteorological observatories of airports, armies, oil fields, forest zones, salt fields, farms, sea, and in the regional, countys, urban meteorological stations, etc, also in the water resource management.

The 724xd series weather radars operating at X band are IF coherent system pulse weather radars. These types of radars are mainly used for weather forecast. The radar family can not only detects the top height, thickness, bottom height and water content of the precipitation cloud, but also the radial velocity of the flow field in the precipitation cloud, the active areas of airflows and the turbulences in a storm. It is capable of monitoring and alarming disaster weather real timely, such as medium and small-scale storm, hail, severe wind shear, cyclone, tornado, and severe wind, meanwhile it can acquire environment wind fields.
