802.11b/g, 802.11a/b/g and The Latest Wireless LAN Standard Technologies
NS-5000 series client adaptors of nSpace product family consist of three form factors, CardBus,USB(802.11b/g) and Mini-PCI(802.11a/b/g).
NS-5000 series client adaptors support the latest IEEE802.11 standard technologies and provide the ultimate wireless security function, nESA, resolving the problems of standard wireless security
solutions completely. With nESA, NS-5000 series client adaptors extend the range of wired Ethernet network at the same level of security conditions as wired network, and offers ideal wireless LAN
environment to the organizations such as enterprise, government, military, financial institutes and residential customers who are sensitive to security. Furthermore, thanks to the flexibility of
nESA, NS-5000 series client adaptors also provide the full compatibility with existing conventional standard security technologies.
With NS-5000A access point, NS-5000 series client adaptors let customers enjoy safe and reliable wireless LAN environment.
nESA, the ultimate wireless Security Function
Today, the security problem is the weakest point of wireless LAN, and becomes the largest obstacle in the use of the wireless LAN. Even though IEEE has released a series of security technologies
including 802.11i, which is the latest standard security technology, the security problem of wireless LAN has not been solved yet. The fundamental reason is that the wireless LAN is exposed to any
body easily. This leads to make possible wireless LAN sniffing of intruders, and finally let the wireless network attacked by intruders easily. To solve this fundamental problem, it is essential to
prevent intruders from sniffing the wireless LAN and, to do so, all traffic in the wireless LAN should be protected. nESA wireless security function provided by NS-5000A protects the wireless
network itself, and prevents intruders from sniffing the wireless LAN by encoding all traffic on the wireless LAN. nESA is a unique wireless security function provided only by NS-5000A, and the
main features thereof are as follows.
802.11i, which is the latest standard security technology, also protects only a part of the traffic of wireless LAN as previous technologies did, and thus leaves the weak point of previous standard
wireless security solution unsolved as it is.
The following figure shows the comparison between the traffic protection scope of the standard wireless security technologies and nESA.
