Corn

Recently the United States and Europe has encouraged its use for ethanol production. The ethanol is used as an additive in gasoline to increase octane. The use of corn to produce bio-fuels is expensive its use for food.

Industry can be used as ingredients for making sweets, biscuits, breads, chocolates, jams, ice cream and mayonnaise. Its industrial use is not restricted to the food industry. It is widely used in the production of components and adhesive thickeners (for various purposes), and the production of oils. The primary use of corn in the United States and Canada is in animal nutrition. Brazil has similar situation: 65% of corn is used in animal feed, and 11% is consumed by industry for various purposes.

In the dry process the corn after cleaning and drying, is degerminado and separated into endosperm and germ.
