High thermal resistance type is appropriate for cold climates.

Medium thermal resistance type is appropriate for hot and temperate climates.

TOG is defined and tested under ISO standard procedure in a laboratory, and can not be reliably tested in any other way. This test also includes evolution of the water vapour permeability, which we apply only on synthetic materials (Quilts).

The insulation capability of a blanket is defined by TOG (Thermal Resistant of Garment). The TOG does not depend only on weight or the wool percentage, but also on the fiber quality, the type of weaving, and fiber raising.

Cost is very dependent on the quality of the recycled fibers, the quantity of new fiber, the type and quality of spinning & weaving.

Virgin wool has much higher insulation capacities than recycled wool but is far more expensive. Recycled wool is a lot cheaper, and is appropriate, even for cold countries.
