Fantastic Durfee Carved Oak Grandfather Clock

Fantastic all original carved oak grandfather clock made byWalter H Durfee, Providence, RI. The hood has a broken arch top with doublehandled urn finials, egg and dart moldings, applied carvings, three carvedcolumns on each side with extensive carvings on top and bottom and piercecarved sides where the sound of the tubes can vibrate out. The case hasraised panel sides, floral applied carvings, fluted rectangular columns anda lovely shaped beveled glass door surrounded by a beaded molding. The basehas floral and wreath carvings and claw feet on the front and back. Thereis a vertical sliver of wood missing on the backboard. This clock has theoriginal Durfee nine tube three weight movement with fancy silver and etchedbrass dial with revolving moon dial on top.
