The Gracanica monastery was built by Serbian King Milutin in the year of 1310. and dedicated it to the Holy Mother of God. Monastery is located in village of Gracanica 5km away from Pristine,
administrative center of Kosovo and Metohia. The time during 14th and 15th centry was the time of greatest spiritual glory of the monastery. Gracanica had houndreds of monks, spiritual, scolar and
art activities were very intensive. The church of the Gracanica monastery was built in five inner circle based cubets, and so it represents the state of the art architecture building of that time.
The additional room has been built in 14th centry during the rule of Duke Lazar. Finaly in the 16th it was painted with frescoes.
