Mien people are about 40,500 living in Thailand, in widely scattered villages. Mien women use cross-stitch embroidery and needlework to decorate their clothing.The traditional woman clothing consists of black embroidered pants, a tunic and a turban. There are five standard designs of embroidery, used to decorate the pants, but each woman can use her own patterns to ornament it.
