The COBRA was Chris Craft's attempt to update the racing runabout concept with mid-50s styling, including the famous Tail Fins. The 21 Cobra was Chris Craft first post-war attempt at true high performance runabouts, with top speeds easily exceeding 50 mph. It was a very stylish boat for the Chris Craft and a difficult boat to build as the fiber glass fins were considered labor-intensive. As a result, it was only produced during the 1955 model year and Chris-Craft did not carry the Cobra on even one more year.
