Across town or across campus, Trek's electric-assist FX+ takes you there with comfort and speed. Trek starts with a light, nimble-handling aluminum frame, and a wonderfully comfortable upright riding position. Then they build it up with quality components from Shimano and Bontrager for precision shifting. But, the magic-carpet ride is courtesy of the smooth, powerful and quiet built-in electric motor that runs off a rechargeable battery. It's a pedal-assist system, which means you can extend the battery run time by pedaling. For example, if you pedal lightly, the range is 25 miles. If you add a little more muscle power, however, you can extend that range to 45 miles! And, it's a sophisticated setup that actually charges itself on downhills, has no memory effect and can be recharged from any wall outlet. The battery is also easily removed for charging off the bike, and so you can ride the bike without using the electric assist. Getting around just got a whole lot easier!
