Performance
* New Genesis 120FI 4-stroke engine
Our Genesis 120FI is the next generation of trail cruising powerplants. Designed from the start to be the ultimate trail engine package, the 120FI delivers simplicity, fuel economy and great
performance. The advanced fuel injection system automatically keeps it running at maximum output and fuel efficiency for the conditions. It also offers our Engine Braking Reduction System (EBRS) to
let the sled freewheel when you let off the throttle.
* Advanced fuel injection
The Genesis 120FI uses Yamahas advanced fuel injection system to control fuel flow to the engine. Consumers will enjoy the engines spot-on performance and throttle response as a result of
the advanced electronic fuel injection system.
* Engine braking reduction system
The Genesis 120FI features the unique Engine Braking Reduction System. The system allows a small amount of air to pass through the fuel injection system when the throttle is released, giving
riders a coast feeling.
* Lightweight rear-exiting exhaust
The patented rear exit design serves many performance-enhancing functions on the RS Vector GT. First, it maximizes horsepower by using a straight exhaust pipe design. Second, it reduces the
amount of under-hood heat produced. Third, the rear-exiting design distributes weight to contribute to the excellent balance of the sled.
* Radiator and fan
In order to generate consistently-strong engine performance, all Genesis 120FI sleds feature a small radiator and fan on the right hand side of the engine cab. The use of a small radiator
improves the sleds cooling system function by 23% versus the previous carbed Vector GT, which means greater engine durability.
* Lightweight hydraulic brake system
The lightweight 4-piston brake system delivers solid stopping power without fading, even in high-use applications. It also incorporates a new, lightweight, double-finned, self-cooling brake
disc.
* New 15x121x1.25 amoplast Rip Saw Track
The RS Vector GT has a new Camoplast Rip Saw track with every window open and a new clip design. It has been widely acclaimed in the industry as the best all-around OEM track for
acceleration, cornering bite and everyday trail usage. The Rip Saw track development is the result of a collaborative effort between Yamaha and Camoplast.
Handling
* Deltabox II with comfortable rider-forward position
The primary design objective of the Deltabox II chassis was to create a comfortable rider-forward posture. The ergonomic treatment is achieved by locating the handlebars and seated position
high and forward on the chassis. With this positioning, the rider can go from sitting to standing and back again easily and comfortably. It also centralizes the combined mass of sled and driver,
for razor-sharp handling.
* Second generation front suspension geometry
The geometry of the second generation front suspension features short spindles and long A-arms. The suspension was engineered to deliver excellent cornering stability and consistent turning
effort throughout its travel stroke. It delivers 9 inches of vertical travel and sets the skis at 42 inches. Steering is consistent, because the spindle caster is maintained at a constant 23
degrees.
* GYTR dual-clicker front shocks
Lightweight premium GYTR dual-clicker shocks offer riders the highest level of tunability on the market with 12 clicks of compression AND 20 clicks of rebound damping. Large, glove-friendly
knobs make adjustments easy. The piggyback reservoir gives the shock increased fade resistance in periods of intense use.
* Integrated airbox/small hood
The design on the RS Vector GT is very efficient, often integrating many functions into one component. One such example is the use of the airbox as a part of the hood design. The upper
element, closest to the headlight, is comprised of the silencer cover for the airbox. This design feature allows for a very small hood piece, which keeps weight low.
* Tall, wide, hooked handlebars
To match the tall and forward position, a single-piece, dual-hooked handlebar is standard fare on the RS Vector GT. The hooks have the same grip material as the main bar section, for
consistent control, regardless of hand position on the grip.
* Saddleless plastic skis
The saddleless plastic ski offers low unsprung weight and its aggressive keel design provides strong bite to help the RS Vector GT corner.
Comfort
* Mono Shock II RA rear suspension
The Mono Shock II RA rear suspension uses a single shock to control the travel of the skid. The shock is remotely adjustable via a rotating dial located conveniently on the left side of the
tunnel, near the drivers leg. The suspension is widely adjustable to suit nearly any rider in nearly any condition. In addition to the remote adjustment, the Mono Shock II RA is also adjustable at
the coil spring and at the control rod. Along with these features, the Mono Shock II RA rear suspension includes 13 new changes from the original Mono Shock II RA rear suspension such as a larger
rear axel, a track adjuster, stronger rails, new needle bearings in the lower front arm, and more.
* Tall, lightweight seat
The RS Vector GTs lightweight seat features a roomy cargo space. The height of the trail seat makes it even easier to go from sitting to standing, while the firm foam provides extra comfort.
There is a waterproof membrane in the seat liner to significantly reduce the amount of moisture that is absorbed into the seat foam.
* New grip warmers
The RS Vector GT receives new, redesigned grip warmers for 2010. These new grip warmers deliver a more concentrated heat source rather than spreading the warmth out. The result is a much
warmer grip for your hands most comfortable riding position. In addition, an insulator has been inserted between the heating element and handlebar to retain heat longer and more efficiently.
* Wheels with removable bearings
The newly designed wheels make the ride smooth and make maintenance easy. Now when the bearings need to be replaced you dont have to purchase a whole new wheel, just remove the old bearings
and insert the new ones. The wheels also include a new spoke design and a rubber rim that make for a comfortable riding experience. This new design will be implemented on the rear large wheels as
well as the internal smaller wheels.
* Wide runningboards with star-punched traction
The RS Vector GTs wide runningboards feature star-punched traction throughout their entire length. The boards also have an outer traction roll for additional sure footing. As an added
benefit, the traction holes help evacuate snow and slush from the runningboard.
* Standard electric start
Yamahas electric starter system allows consumers to fire up their RS Vector GT with the turn of a key. There is no pulling on a nylon cord to get this high-tech engine growling! Electric
start is a standard feature on all of Yamahas 4-stroke machines.
* Dual DC outlets
The RS Vector GT offers two styles of DC outlets. It comes with a standard automotive-style outlet for cell phones, GPS or other electronics accessories. And it also comes standard with an
RCA-style plug near the left hand grip to power up heated helmet visors or other small-plug accessories.
