German tooling technology and processes are the mainstay of production at Bei Ben, while German engineering experts provide training in the fields of project management and assembly. All original components are supplied by reputable manufacturers, such as Weichai engine (built under license from STEYR of Austria) and ZF and Eaton Fuller gearboxes, while assembly is done in close conjunction with the source companies in China. Locally, Super Group has established a semi-knock-down (SKD) assembly operation in Pietermaritzburg.

Established by Chinese source company Bei Ben Heavy Truck Company, Powerstar has elicited critical acclaim from transporters in countries with terrain and conditions similar to those in South Africa. Operators in Iraq, Ethiopia and Nigeria have praised both the performance and simplicity of the vehicles. The United Nations and Chinese Military also utilize the POWERSTAR BeiBen as their commercial vehicle of choice.

POWERSTAR BeiBen vehicles are designed to meet the rigorous demands of the African market and terrain. Although the design of the Powerstar features advanced engine technology (direct injection, turbo charging and inter-cooling), the product steers clear of sophisticated electronics which can cause complications and additional expenses in relation to maintenance and repairs.
